Fort Novosel, Alabama

Fort Novosel, home of U.S. Army Aviation, is just a short distance East of Enterprise (8 Miles), and can be reached via Highway 84 to Daleville or Highway 248 from the city.  We appreciate those in the military who come to serve and train at Fort Novosel, and are here to help serve you during your time in our area.

Fort Novosel has numerous events and activities throughout the year for soldiers and their families, as well as those visiting their family, and the public. Fort Novosel Director of Family, Morale, Welfare, and Recreation plans and oversees all activities for the post. 

Newcomer's Welcome Briefing

The Newcomer’s Welcome Briefing is hosted every third Friday on the month at 8:30 AM inside The Landing.  This welcome is designed to assist military personnel, family members, and DA civilians by providing information about the Fort Novosel community, and is open to any soldier stationed at Fort Novosel.  Door prizes and a free sponsored breakfast are just part of the free activities and information you will receive.  To register, please call 334-255-3564.

Annual Events

Fort Novosel is home to various events throughout the year, including the Children’s Festival, Pro Am Golf Tournament, Oktoberfest, US Army Soldier Show, Lake Fest, Freedom Fest, and the Christmas Tree Lighting, just to name a few.  

Army Aviation Museum

Fort Novosel is home to U.S. Army Aviation.  This museum maintains a collection of over 164 military aircraft, including one of the largest collections of military helicopters in the world.  Public galleries include aircraft from the early days of aviation through today’s high-tech machines flown by Army aviators today (manned and unmanned). 

Dining and Entertainment

Do you need someplace to relax after a long day?  Make sure to visit The Landing and The Landing Zone, Rucker Lanes, and Mother Rucker’s for your dining and entertainment needs.  Nearby Rucker Lanes is available for bowling, and often has a lunch and bowl special.

Outdoor Recreation

Lake Tholocco
Fort Novosel is home to Lake Tholocco, a 640-acre lake where visitors can boat, swim, water ski, hunt, and fish.  Rental equipment is available for a nominal fee. 

Silver Wings Golf Course

This 27-hole public course showcases the natural beauty surrounding the post. Set up as 3, 9-hole courses, players can have a different experience every time! 

Fort Novosel Riding Stables

Open for 8 shows throughout the year, these stables house some of Fort Novosel’s most famous residents.  Please call 334-255-2292 for an event listing or lesson schedules.

Aquatics

Fort Novosel has four areas for water recreation including Splash Pool and Spray Park, Lake Tholocco, Flynn Pool and the PFC Indoor Pool.
