*Rehearsals will begin Monday, September 12, 2022 @ Enterprise State Community College. You must attend rehearsal in order to perform.
Messiah, A Community Choral Presentation is created with the desire to provide Coffee County and the Wiregrass Area with a Choral rendition of Handel’s Messiah.
Founded on principles of openness and community – everyone is welcome as the community gathers together in the performance of this celebrated work.
The Coffee County Arts Alliance and the Enterprise State Community College Division of Fine Arts are helping the community ring in the holiday season with Messiah, A Community Choral Presentation , a rendition of Handel’s great work.
Messiah, A Community Choral Presentation, under the direction and leadership of CCAA President and ESCC Division of Fine Arts Chair Dr. Ken Thomas, is a Choral Presentation event that includes featured soloists, orchestra and chorus to provide the core support. Soloists and the orchestra will include ESCC Fine Arts faculty/students, community members, and members of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.
“This is our gift to the community, and what better way to bring the community together than with the music of Handel’s ‘Messiah,’” Dr. Ken Thomas said. “We look forward to celebrating and rejoicing with the beautiful music.”
Handel wrote and composed about the human response to the divine.
Nowhere is this more apparent than in his famous work “Messiah”. The feelings of joy from “the Hallelujah choruses” are second to none. All those of a heavy heart, will surely lift their spirits and rejuvenate their minds…
